Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge Headquarters
The new U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Headquarters reflects a commitment to protecting the natural environment and the wildlife that depends on it. Surrounded by an exceptional landscape of native prairie, ancient granite mountains, and diverse wildlife habitats, the facility supports the ongoing conservation mission of one of America’s historic national wildlife refuges.
As part of this environmentally conscious setting, Gardner Walker’s AviProtek® bird-safe glass pattern 217 glazing supports the protection of local and migratory bird populations while allowing natural light into the building.
By integrating bird-safe glazing into a facility dedicated to wildlife conservation, the project demonstrates how thoughtful building design can contribute to a safer environment for birds and reinforce the broader mission of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
