This award-winning product combines Gardner Walker’s high-quality acid-etch with a choice of low-emissivity Solarban® coatings from Vitro Glass. This product uses a full surface finish from Walker Textures® on surface 1, with Solarban® high-performance coatings from Vitro Glass on surface 2. This unique combination offers privacy, glare reduction and creative opportunities, all while maintaining high VLT and top-of-the-line energy efficiency.

Your Low-E Acid-Etched glass finish
Walker Textures® products are effective bird-friendly solutions that can contribute to many LEED® credits. Easy to maintain, they will stand the test of time in exterior applications and are backed by a 10-year warranty against surface degradation. Walker Textures® products also come with EPD and HPD® documentation.
For applications that don’t require a low-e coating on surface 2, you may prefer our uncoated Walker Textures® acid-etched glass options.

How does low-e coated acid-etched glass work?
Walker Textures acid-etched finish is done on surface 1, while a Solarban high-performance low-e coating from Vitro Architectural Glass is on surface 2. This combination creates a unique design aesthetic with a matte exterior appearance while optimizing solar control and energy performance.
Does the acid-etched finish affect solar performance?
No. The acid-etched finish has no significant impact on solar performance values, so results are comparable to non-etched glass paired with the same Solarban coating.
Is full surface low-e coated acid-etched glass bird-friendly?
Absolutely, the full surface etched on the exterior side provides a matte finish which does not reflect the surrounding natural elements. There are examples where the full surface etched glass with low-e has been used successfully to prevent bird collision such as the National Aquarium in Baltimore.
Does the full surface etched glass with low-e coating affect natural light or the view through the glass?
The combination is designed to balance privacy, glare reduction, and high visible light transmittance, so spaces stay bright while still gaining the energy benefits of the low-e coating.
