Under the LEED® rating system, only projects — not raw materials or suppliers — are certified. What Gardner Walker can do is help the architects, glaziers, and building owners who specify our glass accumulate the documentation and points their projects need.
That’s why our full surface acid-etched glass, acid-etched mirror, un-etched mirror, patterned acid-etched glass, and AviProtek® bird-friendly glass solutions all carry independently verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) and Health Product Declarations® (HPD®), prepared and verified by Vertima, an approved third-party EPD/HPD® certifier.
Green design doesn’t just make a positive impact on public health and the environment. It can also reduce operating costs, and enhance building spaces and surroundings.
LEED® furthers this initiative by providing rating systems that are voluntary and based on generally accepted energy and environmental principles. LEED® rating systems are developed by U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) committees, in adherence with USGBC policies and procedures guiding the development and maintenance of rating systems. They are applicable to new commercial construction and major renovation projects.
