Walker Textures^{^®} products are effective bird-friendly solutions that can contribute to many LEED^{^®} credits. Easy to maintain, they will stand the test of time in interior or exterior applications and are backed by a 10-year warranty against degradation. Walker Textures^{^®} products also come with EPD and HPD^{^®} documentation.

For applications that require a low-e coating on surface 2, you may prefer our Low-e Coated Acid-etched Glass option.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the four finishes?
They differ mainly in opacity level:
- Satinlite – lightest, a refined matte look with a touch of gloss and transparency
- Satin – light, smooth and even, still allows good visibility with light privacy
- Velour – medium, high haze with high VLT, a strong balance of diffusion and light transmittance (91% VLT on 6mm clear)
- Opaque – heaviest/darkest, best for concealment while still transmitting a high level of natural light
Can I get acid-etched glass on both sides?
Velour and Opaque are available etched on both sides (thickness and quantity minimums apply). Satin and Satinlite are available one side only. Etching both sides of Velour or Opaque adds unmatched visual depth.
Is this glass suitable for exterior use?
Yes, all four finishes can be used on exterior applications including on surface 1. They are multiple examples in the project gallery.
Does acid-etched glass qualify for LEED credits?
Yes, Walker Textures^® products can contribute to a number of LEED^® credits, and they come with EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) and HPD^® (Health Product Declaration) documentation. For more details refer to the LEED credit list in the sustainability section of our site.

Pinhead

The Pinhead roll pattern glass is a classic and is also known under various names such as: Pinehead Morocco, Pattern 62, Pattern 56 or Stipolite. Roll patterns offer some intimacy while letting natural light permeate the glass. This type of glass is typically used in interior applications.

Opaque

Gardner Walker’s Opaque finish is our darkest in terms of opacity. Opaque is the best finish to diffuse light and has a high level of visible light transmittance. This finish is perfect to conceal things while at the same time enjoying the full benefit of natural light. Visually, provides depth to the glass. This depth can be enhanced when the glass is etched on both sides. Again the Opaque finish can be used in both interior and exterior applications.

Velour

Gardner Walker’s Velour is our medium finish in terms of opacity. Velour is an excellent way to diffuse light, possessing a high haze level. The level of visible light transmittance is also very high with 91% for 6mm clear glass. This combination of light diffusion and light transmittance makes it an ideal finish to be used in both interior and exterior applications.

Standard sheet size is 96’’ x 130’’. Some substrates are also available in 100’’ x 144’’.

Satin
