AviProtek® Turbo bird safe glass was designed for projects requiring large quantities of glass and bigger openings. It is available on standard stock sheets of 96″ x 130″ and 100″ x 144″, with or without a low e coating on surface two. The minimum order is three blocks per pattern. For applications that require less than three blocks, we recommend AviProtek® Bird friendly glass or AviProtek® E low-e bird safe glass.

AviProtek® E bird friendly glass can contribute to the following credits under LEED v4.1 Building Design + Construction (BD+C).
All three are dot patterns, but they differ in dot size, spacing, and Threat Factor (TF) rating from the American Bird Conservancy: 915 uses 5mm dots on a 2″ x 2″ grid (TF 25), 917 also uses 5mm dots on a 2″ x 2″ grid but rates lower at TF 15, and 921 uses 6mm dots on a wider 2″ x 4″ grid (TF 25). Lower TF numbers indicate better bird-deterrence performance in ABC’s tunnel test.
Yes. Like other Walker Textures® acid-etched products, it can be fabricated into monolithic, tempered, or insulated glass unit configurations.
Bird collision deterrence markers need to be visible to birds approaching from outside, so AviProtek® Turbo’s acid-etched pattern is applied to surface one (the outermost, exterior-facing surface) rather than an interior surface.
Turbo’s minimum order is 3 blocks per pattern, since it’s built for higher-volume runs. For smaller quantities, Gardner Walker recommends its classic AviProtek® or AviProtek® E product lines instead, which support smaller minimum orders.
