OSSTF Headquarters
Toronto, ON
Moriyama Teshima Architects designed the new headquarters of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation to be much more than a bureaucratic workplace. This 124,000 sq. ft. mass timber building overlooking the Don Valley ravine combines sustainable construction elements like bird friendly glass, Canadian sourcing, and carbon sequestering with thoughtful design elements that enhance occupant comfort throughout the building. For example, the long banks of windows provide natural daylighting, solar performance, and views of the ravine, along with bird deterrence. These bird safe windows were fabricated by Trulite Toronto and are glazed with AviProtek® E glass.
